artist [ahr-tist] noun ::
a person who creates work that is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance, particularly in the fine arts.
Chatham County artists, you inspire us. We are grateful.
You told us the things you most needed help with are financial support and marketing support. We heard you.
And we are investing in you in the following ways:
MARKETING… Check out our Meet This Artist series for this month. Create an entry for yourself in our Arts Directory to be entered into the selection process for this feature.
MARKETING… Speaking of which, our Arts Directory featuring only artists who live or work in Chatham County is robust, searchable, and offers a gorgeous showplace for your work. You can add yourself and update your own entry at any time with your very own log-in. Click here to get started.
MARKETING… Our Arts Calendar is now the central place for all arts happenings in Chatham County—and Chatham County only! You can add your next exhibition, staged reading, or gig—including details and an image by clicking here.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT… Our Grassroots Arts Grants, in partnership with the NC Arts Council, award organizations funds in the range of $500 to $2,500 to use the arts to further their missions in Chatham County. And we put a special emphasis on funding payment to artists. If you’re working with an organization that might be able to use these funds to pay you, click here to learn more.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT… Our Emerging Artist Grant partnership with the Durham Arts Council is a rare opportunity for individual artists to get funding. To learn more about individual artist grants up to $1,500, click here.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT… We’re developing a brand new grant called the Small But Mighty Marketing Grant, especially to give individual artists a little cash boost for their promotional efforts. Click here.
