SUMMARY:Slow Flow Yoga @ The Plant
DESCRIPTION:This slow-flow vinyasa class is focused on building strength and encouraging flexibility. Class begins with a short grounding and centering exercise during which students are guided into their breathwork practice\, followed by gentle movements to warm up the body. We’ll then move through modified sun salutations and standing postures\, after which\, inversions will be offered to support the circulatory system. The class will end with seated and reclined postures to cool the body down and prepare for savasana. Modifications are offered throughout practice\, and all levels are welcome! \nThis class will meet outside on the lawn in front of the stage\, or in Building 2 in the event of rain. If you have any questions\, head into Fair Game Beverage Company and someone there will show you where to go.

SUMMARY:Slow Flow Yoga @ The Plant
DESCRIPTION:This slow-flow vinyasa class is focused on building strength and encouraging flexibility. Class begins with a short grounding and centering exercise during which students are guided into their breathwork practice\, followed by gentle movements to warm up the body. We’ll then move through modified sun salutations and standing postures\, after which\, inversions will be offered to support the circulatory system. The class will end with seated and reclined postures to cool the body down and prepare for savasana. Modifications are offered throughout practice\, and all levels are welcome! \nThis class will meet outside on the lawn in front of the stage\, or in Building 2 in the event of rain. If you have any questions\, head into Fair Game Beverage Company and someone there will show you where to go.

DESCRIPTION:Experience the vibrant spirit of Downtown Pittsboro’s social district (Hillsboro St. and nearby areas) at the May 15 Finally Fridays Arts Walk from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Explore unique shops\, galleries\, and local businesses\, enjoy live art and music\, and savor delicious food—all while connecting with artists and neighbors in a welcoming\, creative\, and inclusive community. The event is free to the public and participating artist/vendors. \nPittsboro’s Historic Buildings: \nHistoric buildings in Pittsboro tell tales of resilience and creativity\, while local artisans have played a pivotal role in Chatham County’s development.\nThe Blair Hotel\, now called the Blair Building (north corner of Hillsboro and West):\nIn 1917 George Walker Blair\, a local businessman\, horse trader and livestock dealer\, saw the need for up-dated accommodations for visitors to Pittsboro\, and built the Blair Hotel on the court house circle where the old Central Hotel\, which burned several years earlier\, had stood. The Blair hotel was built in the “California Mission Style” with a low\, overhanging tile roof and open balconies. The new hotel offered modern facilities for its time: a steam bath\, electric lights\, hot and cold running water\, and indoor baths and toilets. \nThe hotel facilities were located on the second floor; the first floor consisted of commercial store-fronts. \nAn early commercial tenant was Hall’s Department Store\, established in 1922 and which operated continuously into the 1960’s. There will be a reception on Friday\, May 15th\, from 5-8 pm. \nPlace draws her inspiration from two distinct sources—the flowing\, transparent style of Murano glass\, and the vibrant\, organic forms of mid-century modern design. Looking at her work\, it is easy to see the blend of these inspirations—her beautiful\, kaleidoscope-like colors are sometimes blended and flowing\, and other times filled with surprising pops of shape and color that will take the viewer directly to that mid-century design period. \nPlease join us in celebrating the work of this talented artist. SUMMARY:Full of Whimsy & Rage Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:Full Of Whimsy and Rage\, showing May 1 – June 10\, 2026 at PAF Gallery in Siler City\, North Carolina features the abstract works of Ash Lorusso and Paget Marion Blythe. Their bold\, bright acrylic and mixed media paintings emphasize both the power and the resilience of art making during this collectively tumultuous time. In a culture that rewards productivity\, and emotional numbing\, choosing to slow down and attune creatively becomes an act of rebellion. Through color\, gesture\, and layered marks\, their paintings are a refusal to disappear. This show insists that creativity is not a luxury\, but a vital tool for transformation and rebellion; one that allows rage to bloom into connection and strength. \n“The work of the artist is to turn her rage into flowers.” – Audre Lorde \nAsh’s work explores the stages of memory/identity loss\, repetition\, and desire paths. A desire path is an informal trail formed by repeated use; shaped by instinct rather than design. These lines are quiet evidence of choice\, resistance\, and the deeply human urge to move intuitively through time. Similarly\, her paintings trace the accumulation of thought\, feeling\, and experience\, carving paths forward in ways that oscillate between clarity and tumult\, between safety and confusion. \nPaget works in acrylic\, mixed media and collage. She is particularly interested in using traditional iconography and artifacts from “women’s work” to question identity narratives. Imagining the silent stories behind textile remnants\, discarded papers and found objects\, her paintings allow these materials to gain new agency. Many of her recent works also play with the concept of excavation; painted and collaged layers are physically manipulated\, torn and/or removed to allow for destructive revelations in the composition. \nFull of Whimsy & Rage is funded in part by a grant received from the United Arts Council of Wake County and the opening reception will coincide with Siler City’s downtown third Friday music series on May 15.

DESCRIPTION:Zumba Fitness is a dance inspired\, instructor led fitness class that feels like a party on the dance floor. Move and groove to international and latin rhythms from around the world while learning new dance steps in the process. Start off with feet\, add arms\, then start follow the pattern shown through non-verbal direction at the front of the class. Tanja has been teaching Zumba fitness classes since 2012 in and around Chatham County. She also teaches Zumba Gold classes for those who need a little less intensity\, have balance issues or injuries\, and still want to party\, but in a safe environment. SUMMARY:Slow Flow Yoga @ The Plant
DESCRIPTION:This slow-flow vinyasa class is focused on building strength and encouraging flexibility. Class begins with a short grounding and centering exercise during which students are guided into their breathwork practice\, followed by gentle movements to warm up the body. We’ll then move through modified sun salutations and standing postures\, after which\, inversions will be offered to support the circulatory system. The class will end with seated and reclined postures to cool the body down and prepare for savasana. Modifications are offered throughout practice\, and all levels are welcome! \nThis class will meet outside on the lawn in front of the stage\, or in Building 2 in the event of rain. If you have any questions\, head into Fair Game Beverage Company and someone there will show you where to go.
