DESCRIPTION:The next Pittsboro Finally Fridays Arts Walk takes place on December 19 from 5–8 PM in downtown Pittsboro (Hillsboro St. and nearby areas). Explore the shops\, check out the sales and browse the arts and crafts booths along the Social District sidewalks during this arts walk event. \nDowntown Pittsboro celebrates the ”Spirit of the Holly Days” during its December 19 Finally Fridays Arts Walk. Holly’s sharp leaves stand for strength\, and its red berries signify warmth. Streets are decorated with holly and festive garlands\, welcoming everyone to enjoy local art and seasonal togetherness. The holly days spirit in Downtown Pittsboro is more than just festive décor—it’s a celebration of generosity\, gratitude\, and togetherness that fills the area with light\, laughter\, and connection during its Finally Fridays Arts Walk. \nPittsboro is home to some historic holly trees. One famous holly tree grew near West Street and was believed to be about 155 years old when it was cut down in 2008. A slice of this tree\, showing its growth rings\, is now displayed at the Chatham Community Library. Another impressive holly tree stands in Mike Shepherd’s yard across from the Pittsboro Baptist Church. This tree is even larger than the other one and may be just as old\, with family history going back to the 1850s. Both trees are reminders of Pittsboro’s long connection to holly and its natural heritage. \nDuring Pittsboro Finally Fridays Arts Walk\, shops and galleries show holly-themed art and crafts. Families\, friends\, and neighbors gather in the Social District to enjoy the decorations and make memories together. Holly decorations fill the streets and windows\, while events make things lively and festive and help build community spirit.
