DESCRIPTION:Zumba Fitness is a dance inspired\, instructor led fitness class that feels like a party on the dance floor. Move and groove to international and latin rhythms from around the world while learning new dance steps in the process. Start off with feet\, add arms\, then start follow the pattern shown through non-verbal direction at the front of the class. Tanja has been teaching Zumba fitness classes since 2012 in and around Chatham County. She also teaches Zumba Gold classes for those who need a little less intensity\, have balance issues or injuries\, and still want to party\, but in a safe environment. DESCRIPTION:Adults and Teens of all abilities and disabilities gather every (most) Thursdays for dance\, art\, games\, and more. We are an inclusive community of friends who enjoy a diversity of art forms\, activities\, and fun socializing together. \nDANCE: and move your body’s way that is natural for you with both form and freedom. We explore a variety of guided dance form and choreography as well as freedance co-created by participants. Dance styles vary from pop\, hip hop\, jazz\, lyrical\, modern to whatever style inspires the group. Express yourself through dance and music!\nART: We do ‘easy’ basic art right now\, with plans to create more robust art as we gather art supplies and find a volunteer art leader.\nOTHER ACTIVITIES: We enjoy board games\, horticulture/gardening\, music\, bowling\, field trips\, theatre arts\, and Special Olympics spring games. \nCAREGIVERS are asked to stay. SUMMARY:Slow Flow Yoga @ The Plant
DESCRIPTION:This slow-flow vinyasa class is focused on building strength and encouraging flexibility. Class begins with a short grounding and centering exercise during which students are guided into their breathwork practice\, followed by gentle movements to warm up the body. We’ll then move through modified sun salutations and standing postures\, after which\, inversions will be offered to support the circulatory system. The class will end with seated and reclined postures to cool the body down and prepare for savasana. Modifications are offered throughout practice\, and all levels are welcome! \nThis class will meet outside on the lawn in front of the stage\, or in Building 2 in the event of rain. If you have any questions\, head into Fair Game Beverage Company and someone there will show you where to go.
