Chatham Community Players Presents: Barefoot in the Park

November 6 - November 7

$16

Come see Chatham Community Players’ adult cast performance of Barefoot in the Park, written by Neil Simon. This was a 1963 smash hit on Broadway and 1967 movie starring Robert Redford and Jane Fonda.

It’s the story of Paul and Corie Bratter, newlyweds in every sense of the word. He’s a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she’s a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find – too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of paint, roofing, heat and neighbors who aren’t crazy. After a six-day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie’s loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during drinks, dinner and drinks with their neighbor-in-the-attic, Velasco. Everything that can go wrong does. Paul just doesn’t understand Corie, as she sees it. He’s too staid, too boring, and she just wants him to be a little more spontaneous. Running “barefoot in the park” would be a start…

Chatham Community Players is a circulating group of talented local volunteer adult actors and actresses who rehearse and perform plays in Sweet Bee Theater, Chatham county’s 1 and only pubic theatre. 100% of proceeds from shows go toward supporting community theater in Pittsboro.
