Chaucer’s pilgrims told stories on their way to Canterbury. Ruth Moose listens in as these 22 pilgrims, a hairdresser, a minister, a retired shoe salesman, a lady wrestler, and others, head toward Graceland. All have their reasons. Will they get there? And what will they find if they do?
While Ruth Moose was on the Creative Writing faculty at UNC-Chapel Hill teaching short story, she won the prestigious Chapman Award for Excellence. She published individual stories in Atlantic, Alaska Quarterly Review, Redbook, and other places. Since retiring she published two novels with St.Martin’s Press. Doing it at the Dixie Dew won St. Martin’s Malice Domestic award. Going to Graceland is Moose’s fifth collection of short stories.
