Luke Vandergriff Latin Music Residency at Virgina Cross Elementary

From November 5–7, students at Virginia Cross Elementary will have the opportunity to work with multi-disciplinary artist Luke Vandergriff as part of the Artists-in-Schools initiative. Luke is a musician, storyteller, and educator who creates music from everyday objects and explores the science and creativity of sound. During the residency, students will discover how Latin music and science intersect by building instruments from found materials, experimenting with sound, and creating their own performances. This engaging experience will inspire creativity, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of how music connects to math, science, and culture.
