It’s been two-year process getting here. Here to this new identity for the Chatham Arts Council, with our new logo, our new strategy, and our new website.
We had some help.
Early on, when we had an inkling that maybe we weren’t being as impactful or sustainable as we could be, we got some serious help from The Carlsen Fund of the Triangle Community Foundation. They helped us reach out into the Chatham County community for honest feedback on what we were doing.
And then, when we set about discovering our new identity, we needed some more help. Fortunately, the fine folks at the North Carolina Arts Council, the Galloway Ridge Charitable Fund, the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, and some individual donors believed in the process of what we were doing long before we knew where that process would take us.
Finally, our plans were in place. And right about then is when we confronted the risks we always knew were inherent in putting our programs on hiatus and taking time to be intentional. We needed a financial boost, or this launch wasn’t going to happen. Our big plans were going to remain just plans.
Our boost came in the form of an anonymous donor who wrote us a $5,000 check to propel this launch forward. That’s awesome on its own. But you want to know what makes it extra special?
This is the single biggest gift this person has ever made to a nonprofit. This is not someone you’d encounter in your everyday life, and think, “That person is in the habit of making game-changing donations.” This is a person who decided to act on her belief that our new Chatham Arts Council can be impactful in this community, and she wants that to happen right now.
So, thanks to this donor, and to those incredible earlier gifts, we are launching our new identity: new logo, new strategy, new website.
