|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 6:00 pm, repeating until October 28, 2018

One event on October 27, 2018 at 7:00 pm

Mark Twain Interpreter, Don McNeill, tours his authentic signature performance show of Mark Twain around the country. On October 27 and 28, 2018, Street Fair weekend, audiences in Pittsboro, NC can see “Mark Twain Speaks” in Sweet Bee Theater in Pittsboro. McNeill was a Mark Twain enthusiast long
before his hobby became a career. He grew up in Missouri, like Twain himself. He studied Twain at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Now, sporting his own natural white mustache and curly hair, McNeill expertly brings Mark Twain to life. Adding modern-day truth to Twain’s famous quote, “The reports of
my death were greatly exaggerated,” in every performance. McNeill has performed his authentic and classic Twain “lectures” over 70 times in packed houses from St. Louis east. As McNeill says in typical Twain fashion, “I hope that doctors, lawyers, bankers, and especially Congress will not be overly
offended by my stories.” …“I was modest, but it wore off.”
