Celebrating the history of North Carolina AND Pittsboro:
With the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution this year, North Carolina residents can’t help but wonder: What happened here? Now’s the perfect time to immerse yourself in the rich history of Chatham County and the town of Pittsboro. The Chatham County Historical Association invites you to visit the museum, located in the iconic historic courthouse at the heart of Downtown Pittsboro.

The museum offers a unique opportunity to discover the stories, artifacts, and people that shaped Chatham County. Chatham County Historical Association volunteers provide information, insights, and guidance for museum visitors.

Pittsboro is a place where history and progress go hand in hand:
– Pittsboro is a community rooted in history: Every street and storefront has a story to tell.
– We celebrate art in all its forms: From murals to music, creativity thrives here.
– Discover our uniqueness: Shop, dine, and explore; our local businesses make Pittsboro special.
– Downtown Pittsboro gives new meaning to “social district”: We are a welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant place where everyone belongs.
– Explore Local Businesses: Visit boutiques, galleries, and shops showcasing local craftsmanship and creativity.
– Dine and Unwind: Sample Pittsboro’s culinary delights at the town’s array of pubs and eateries, each offering a unique flavor of the community.
– Engage with Local Artists: Meet artists and makers displaying their work and enjoy live demonstrations and performances throughout the evening.

Whether you’re a longtime resident or a first-time visitor, join us for an evening of discovery, connection, and celebration. Experience what makes Pittsboro truly unique—more than a social district, it’s a community with a heart, history and a story worth sharing.
