The arts are bringing joy this summer, we at the Chatham Arts Council invite you to Go See This…
Get ready to celebrate creativity, identity, and community through the arts at this year’s PBO Pride festival, a vibrant two-day event happening June 6–7 in Pittsboro. This Chatham County Pride Alliance event is hosted at The Plant, a favorite spot for grassroots celebrations. PBO Pride will bring together drag performers, live musicians, and local vendors to create joyful connection with attendees.

Friday night kicks off with a high-energy drag show and dance party for ages 13 and up. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with drag performances beginning at 6:30 p.m., featuring beloved performers like G-Clef, S.S. Byrdie, Thee Rabbit, Jean-Belle Bleu, and AmanDuh Barron. Hosted by Stormie Daie with beats by DJ Nihl, the show flows into an all-out dance party starting at 8:30 p.m. Admission is free, but seating is limited, so don’t forget to book a seat in advance. New this year are Drag Dollars—fun, faux currency equal to real dollars—used to tip performers and show your support.
Saturday’s festival day is a family-friendly celebration from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, packed with live performances, drag shows, kids’ activities, food, and more. Drag Story Hour kicks off the day on the KidZone Stage, followed by sets from musicians including Emily Musolino, Bear Roots, MOSS, The Beautiful People Club, and Khallori. There’s something for everyone—from rock to soul, blues to indie—and all of it amplifies local LGBTQIA+ voices and artistry.

In addition to literary, music, and performance arts, the festival features a vibrant vendor marketplace and food trucks with vegan and vegetarian options. The KidZone offers creative activities for younger guests, while Drag Story Hour with Princexx Peritwinkle and daytime drag performances by Frannie Starlight and Pirata add flair and fun to the family-friendly atmosphere.
The festivities culminate in the PBO Pride Parade from 5:15 to 6:00 p.m., a joyful and creative march through downtown Pittsboro celebrating love, individuality, and inclusivity. Spectators are encouraged to join in and follow the crowd toward the Little Pond Garden Stage for one last burst of celebration.

But the party doesn’t end there. Head over to Havoc Brewing for the official after party, featuring live music from rock band Shaken & Stirred. With a spacious taproom, outdoor patio, and family- and dog-friendly vibes, Havoc offers a relaxed way to wind down or keep the fun going.
PBO Pride is a project of Chatham Pride, the only nonprofit solely serving the LGBTQ+ community in Chatham County.
Whether you’re a longtime supporter or new to the celebration, PBO Pride is a beautiful reminder of what it means to come together in art, love, and affirmation. So grab your friends, bring your family, and go see this—because art and joy is worth showing up for.
