Start 2025 with a bang as Pittsboro continues to shine as a hotspot for live entertainment! On January 3rd, The Phoebes—a high-energy, Triangle-based rock band—will light up the stage at Hops & Berry located at MOSAIC at Chatham Park. Known for their electrifying stage presence and genre-bending setlists, The Phoebes band promises a night of music that blends classic rock nostalgia with modern flair.

“We’re not the kind of band that just stands there strumming guitars,” says the band’s lead guitarist and manager, Megan Maloney. “We try to make every show exciting, mixing up our setlist to keep the audience dancing and guessing.” Alongside Jay Evans on bass and Nicholas “SupaBeatz” Farrington on drums, the band delivers creative takes on hits from Hendrix, Joplin, The Beatles, and Nirvana, with hints of pop, country, and blues. The band is also diving into original music, giving audiences a taste of what’s next as they work toward their first album.

The Phoebes were forged during the pandemic and began performing in 2021 at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and at the Carolina Blues Festival. The group has quickly earned a name for itself, winning the 2023 WRAL Viewers’ Choice Award for Best Local Band. “The Phoebes is more than a band to me. It’s been a life changing experience,” vocalist TreAlise reflects. “We’ve taken our unique musical backgrounds and mashed them together to create a rock infused sound that we believe resonates with people in a special way. That’s what I love most about being on stage with these guys.”

Hops & Berry, Pittsboro’s self-pour taproom, offers a unique experience with its innovative setup. Guests can explore a curated selection of craft beers, ciders, and wines–and grab some delicious pub fare through an online ordering system. As Pittsboro’s reputation as a creative hub grows, venues like Hops & Berry are helping make the town a cultural destination for regional talent and local audiences alike.
