ClydeFEST 2024 Is THIS SUNDAY!

Our beloved kids’ arts festival is back! ClydeFEST, now in its 22nd year, returns to the East Lawn of the Chatham County Agricultural and Conference Center THIS SUNDAY, APRIL 14 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

From face painting, bubbles, and hula hoops to arts projects and good old-fashioned carnival games, ClydeFEST has an activity for kids of all ages. Offering a full-day of screen-free fun, the festival is a place for kids to get messy in Critterville, painting their very own Clyde critter cut-out, then visiting all the community booths on the field to create a multitude of masterpieces.

PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE

Graphic of performance schedule for ClydeFESTIn addition to all the games and art-making, musicians, dancers, and performers of all kinds will entertain crowds throughout the day, even allowing opportunities for festival-goers to join in the fun. And did we mention the food? Food trucks will line the festival with offerings from famous BLTs and tacos to ice cream, boba tea and cake, and everything in between!

Last season, nearly 2,500 kids of all ages enjoyed the festival. You can read all about it and mark you calendars! You don’t want to miss all this fun!

Thanks in part to the support of our premier sponsor, Connie Fenner State Farm, ClydeFEST 2024 admission is completely free!

JumpstART Walkabout “The Locals”

And this year, there’s more than ever to do at ClydeFEST! We’ve commissioned nine Chatham County artists to create works inspired by other Chatham County residents, either past or present. The results have exceeded our wildest dreams! Muses for the artworks literally span centuries and include Chatham originals like George Moses Horton, Clyde Jones, and our beloved ClydeFEST emcee Pam Smith. Make sure you get a taste of Chatham County history by visiting the exhibition only at ClydeFEST. Many of the artists will be on hand throughout the day so you can interact with their pieces and talk to them about their work and process. Artists include Emily Anderson, JR Butler, Tanja Lipinski Cole, Robin Hall and Anna Ferrin, Sharon Hill, Dawn Landes, Nikolai Lujan, Alexander Percy, and Jordan Wiley.

“The Locals” exhibition is supported in part by Vose Natural Stone.

I realize that it may be too late to present an art project for children at this years Clyde Fest, but who should i contact if i wanted to participate as an exhibitor? O have a farm preschool in Chatham county and would live to show children how to make beautiful crafts out of wool?

    Warmly,

    Heidi
