And For Those of You Who Aren’t Yet Members of the Chatham Arts Council:  A Matching Challenge, Too!

Mosaic

Our Board got inspired anew this week.

And now we have a New Member Matching Challenge for those of you who believe in the arts and believe in Chatham County—but aren’t members of the Chatham Arts Council.  The Chatham Arts Council Board dug deep and personally assembled $3,000 to match any new membership gifts of $1 to $499 that come in by December 31.

Here’s what Board member Bett Wilson Foley has to say about it:

I just got chillbumps when I heard about the Chatham Creative Society Challenge.  I was inspired and excited, and I wanted folks who can give at other levels to be inspired and excited, too.

Board member Gilda McDaniel noted,

There are so many people in Chatham County who believe that the arts are a vital part of the fabric of this community and who want to support that.  We want to give those people a little extra nudge to act on that belief and join the Chatham Arts Council with their holiday giving.

And Board President Gina Harrison told us,

We haven’t done much asking in a while because we were really still working on what we were going to do.  Now we have a clear focus and a solid way to strengthen this community.  Every one of us is committing financially at a level that’s significant for us, and we hope others will be inspired to do the same.

Which gifts can be matched?  Any gift of $1 to $499 from a brand new (or lapsed) member!  (Gifts of $500 or more will be matched by the Chatham Creative Society Challenge.)

What kind of difference will my gift make?  In a small organization, small gifts are vitally important.  $25 is a quarter of a Small But Mighty Marketing Grant.  $50 chips in toward a teaching artist’s honorarium to help us develop our Artists in Schools model.  And $100 gets the magic of the ClydeFEST games to the ballfield in Bynum.  Rest assured: Your gift will make a tangible difference in our ability to invest in artists and educate kids through the arts.

Why should I do this now?  If you give by December 31, your gift will be matched dollar for dollar by our Board.  If you give $25, we get $50.  If you give $250, we get $500.  This isn’t small potatoes for us.  And we hope it feels exciting to you.

We are committed to the artists and children of Chatham County.  And with you as a partner in that commitment, we can have a vibrant, creative community for the long haul as changes aplenty come our way.

Our Board is inspired.  Will you join us?

Will you become a Chatham Arts Council member for the first time?

Will you do it before December 31, so that your gift gets matched and your $100 becomes $200 to do some serious support of creativity in our neck of the woods?
