JABU GRAYBEAL
From Pittsboro, NC, award winning artist Jabu Graybeal first studied with JUBA award winner Gene Medler of the Chapel Hill Ballet School. Jabu is a Jacob’s Pillow and YoungArts Foundation alumni who has worked and performed with a diverse group of companies, such as Caleb Teicher & Company, Emmy Nominee Chloe Arnold’s Apartment 33 and American choreographer Justin Peck. MARK HEWITT
Mark Hewitt has been making distinctive functional pottery near Pittsboro since 1983. He splices what he learned in his native England onto the pottery traditions of North Carolina, bending those traditions into an elegant contemporary style. He uses local clays and glaze materials and fires his pots in a very large wood-burning kiln.
His work is in the Smithsonian, the High Museum in Atlanta, the Weisman Museum in Minneapolis among several others. To learn more visit Mark’s website or follow him on Facebook.
