ClydeFEST Silent Auction In Progress! Get your bid in!

Canvas, paint, glitter folk art umbrella by Clyde Jones.

We’ve got a folk art auction in progress, y’all! This is ClydeFEST 20th Anniversary edition, and we’ve never opened the bidding before ClydeFEST before, so you’re in on a big experiment with some rare opportunities.

First up, the Clyde Jones Umbrella: Many long-term Pittsboro residents will remember the iconic Jones umbrellas displayed in the old Pittsboro General Store, and the ClydeFEST auction is the only chance to take one home. The umbrella features Clyde’s penguin critters in 2-D, and it will bring joy and a sense of whimsy to any space. Materials: Canvas, glitter, wood, and acrylic latex paint. Dimensions: Diameter when open is approximately 8 feet; Height is approximately 4 feet. Note: The art is not weatherproof, so it should not be exposed to rain or snow. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight could cause the paint to fade.

In addition, Peter Loose has donated this fantastic piece, titled Dream Date, for auction in honor of Clyde and the 20th Anniversary.
