We nurture creative thinkers
Building on his Emmy-winning Beat Making Lab, Pierce Freelon and his fellow Blackspace artists will introduce practical beat making, history, and culture to youth in southwest Chatham. Pierce is especially focused on entrepreneurship through digital literacy, which falls right in line with Chatham County’s focus on digital access and equity. Kids will love learning BandLab and other open source software for music editing. The residency will close with students performing alongside Blackspace artists for parents and the rest of their school.
We at the Chatham Arts Council are delighted to provide the only online calendar exclusively dedicated to Chatham County arts events–performing, literary, and visual arts. Get out there and get inspired!
