Grassroots Arts Grants: Apply by July 31!

Is this the year the Chatham Arts Council helps your organization do something amazing through the arts?

We’re thrilled to have granted more than $105,000 since 2000 to other nonprofits using the arts to do extraordinary work in Chatham County through annual Grassroots Arts Grants. In one of our favorite partnership efforts, the Chatham Arts Council serves as the Designated County Partner to the North Carolina Arts Council in awarding these funds. And organizations use these dollars to fund artists and carry the arts into every corner of this county.

If you’ve got a group or a project in mind that could make great use of a Grassroots Arts Grant, take a look at these questions. If you can answer yes to all of them, you’re eligible to apply.

  • Are you an organization?
  • Have you been in operation for at least one year as a 501(c)(3)?
  • Do you have an arts mission—or do you have a program that uses the arts to help accomplish your mission?
  • Are you based in Chatham County—or will you carry out your project in Chatham County?
  • Can you submit your application and support materials by July 31, 2018?

Intrigued? Cash grants range from $500 to $2,500, and you can find out more right here on our website.

The Grassroots Grant Program is made possible by individual contributions to the Chatham County Arts Council’s general operating fund—and by the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural & Cultural Resources. www.NCArts.org.
