Matching Challenge: Your gift of $500 or more will be matched!

Bounty

Fabulous news!  A new anonymous donor is so excited about our newly focused arts council that she’s just challenged us—and you—with a $5,000 matching challenge gift to invest in artists and educate kids through the arts.  This means if we raise $5,000, we get $5,000 more.  This is huge!

Here’s what she has to say about it,

This gift is a big stretch for me.  But when I looked at the impact a gift like this can make in a small but super-focused organization, I just knew I could do it.  I specifically wanted to challenge other arts supporters to stretch to the $500 or $1,000 level because that’s big for this group—and we’ll all reap the rewards of having a robust, strong Chatham Arts Council in our community.

Which gifts can be matched?  We have a membership circle—the Chatham Creative Society—for leadership donors of $500 and up, and this challenge is focused right there.  Our Chatham Creative Society inaugural members are looking forward to gathering with new arts supporters who join through the challenge.

Why a challenge for gifts of $500 and up?  Our challenge donor is impressed with our new commitment to doing fewer things in a more exemplary, impactful, and sustainable way—and she believes fiercely in the ability of Chatham County to sustain a robust arts community as we prepare to grow with the addition of Chatham Park and possibilities at Chatham’s two megasites.

What kind of difference will my gift make?  To be truly sustainable, your Chatham Arts Council needs 50% of its gifts to come in at $500 or more.  Gifts at the Chatham Creative Society level will form the foundation for our granting programs and our artists in schools work to be consistent, reliable, and exemplary from year to year.

Why should I do this now?  Well, first, your gift will be matched dollar for dollar. That’s a big deal for us.  Also, we’re poised to do some exciting work for the arts as this community changes—and you can be a partner in that right now.  And finally, there are some fun perks: You’ll get invited to our inaugural Chatham Creative Society dessert party—and if your gift is $1,000 or more, you’ll get an invite to our inaugural Breakfast with an Artist, too.

We don’t want this new work to be a passing fancy.   We want it to be the foundation to support innovation and creativity in our fast-growing community.

Our donor wants that, too.  Will you join us?

Will you be a Chatham Creative Society member this year at $500 or $1,000?

Will you do it before December 31, so that your gift gets matched and your $1,000 becomes $2,000 for the Chatham Arts Council to invest in artists and educate kids through the arts?
