Two Artist Grant Opportunities Available Amidst Pandemic

Looking for some news that is not related to COVID-19 or online schooling? Well, we’ve got you covered!

Calling all artists! The Chatham Arts Council is excited to announce the availability of TWO amazing artist grants – Artist Support Grants and Emerging Artist Grants. These grants offer unique opportunities and they exist to ensure artists can continue to pursue their creative projects. In the midst of a pandemic, we feel like they’re the bit of good news we could all use.  After all, we all need art!

Here’s the scoop.

Artist Support Grants

  • What: We’re working in partnership with the NC Arts Council, United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County,
  • Raleigh Arts, and other local arts councils on the Artist Support Grants program. Individual grants range in awards up to $1,500.
  • Who: ALL artists living in Chatham, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, and Wake counties, including individual artists and small, unincorporated groups of collaborating artists.
  • Why: To support the creation of artists’ work, improvement of business operations, or expanding capacity to bring work to new audiences.
  • How: Apply online here.
  • When: The deadline to apply is Thursday, October 1, 2020.

Emerging Artists Grants

  • What: The Emerging Artists Grants program, in partnership with the Durham Arts Council, is another opportunity to support artists during this pandemic. Individual grants range in awards up to $1,500.
  • Who: Artists practicing any art form who have resided in Chatham, Durham, Granville, Orange, or Person Counties for at least one year immediately prior to the application deadline are eligible to apply.
  • Why: This grant is intended to support artists by funding a project pivotal to the advancement of their artistic careers. How cool is that?
  • How: Apply online here.
  • When: The deadline to apply is Friday, November 13, 2020.
  • Help!: YES! We are here for you. We will be hosting a Zoom info. session on Saturday, October 3 at 4:30 pm.  This session will provide a program overview and the chance to ask questions. Interested? Please reach out to Jenni Detwiler, CAC Grants to Artists Facilitator, at jenni@chathamartscouncil.org and she’ll send you the link for the session about a week prior to the event.
