Love is in the air, and what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with an enchanting evening filled with live big band music, delectable food, and dancing? On Monday, February 12, Forest Hall at Chatham Mills and 39 West Catering are hosting a spectacular Valentine’s Day dance featuring an 18-piece big band orchestra, the NC Revelers Orchestra.

The evening begins with a sumptuous buffet dinner from 6 to 7 PM, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of live music and dancing. The cost per person is $65, which includes tax and tip, making it a hassle-free experience for attendees. The Revelers, with their timeless music, will serenade you from 7 to 9 PM, creating an ambiance that’s perfect for couples to enjoy dinner and dance the night away. Their music repertoire ranges from Broadway show music, to sambas, cha-chas, tangos, waltzes, beguines, and even classic tunes from beach and rock songbooks.

Henry Mason, bandleader of the NC Revelers Orchestra, shares insights into what guests can expect during the course of the dance. “Our set list for Forest Hall will be geared toward romantic tunes like ‘My Funny Valentine’, ‘Comes Love’, ‘Around the World’, ‘The Song is You’, and ‘A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square’.” Mason also expressed his excitement about the newest addition to their ensemble, lead vocalist Juliana Craig. “I first saw her years ago at a SAS talent show and was amazed by her singing and gift for stage presence. She is a talent in every sense of the word.” (Juliana Craig is a Senior Artist in Residence for SAS Institute, Inc. and has created art for their offices worldwide.)

Greg Lewis, owner and chef for Forest Hall and 39 West Catering, is passionate about providing a platform for the community to come together and celebrate the joy of live music. Chatham locals may fondly remember the NC Revelers, who once graced the Roadhouse stage every first Monday for an impressive six years. “When my wife, Maria, and I left the Roadhouse, we always wanted to keep live music going in Pittsboro. We have live jazz at The Sycamore every Wednesday and a piano player every other night. We’re now able to offer big band dancing four times a year. Dinner and dancing is a perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day.”
