One Challenge Met, One to Go!

You may remember that recently an extraordinary anonymous donor stepped forward with a matching challenge gift for the Chatham Arts Council.  A $5,000 gift.  One that challenged folks to join our Chatham Creative Society giving circle with gifts of $500 or more.

And guess what?  We did it!  Or rather, you did it.  Quite a few of you.

Our anonymous donor couldn’t be happier to write us that matching check.  Here’s what she said when I called to tell her we got there:

Oh my gosh!  I’m over the moon about this.

And then later she said this:

It just confirms my experience that Chatham County is full of smart and caring people.  People who know that a robust arts council can provide powerful programming for reaching and teaching local school children.  People who know that a robust arts council can promote our artists and connect neighbors to make amazing moments in this life.

Now, if you’re not in a place to be a $500 donor (yet!), you can still help us meet our outstanding challenge.  We’ve raised $2,500 toward our $3,000 New Member Matching Challenge.  If you’re a $25 or $50 donor, you can help us make some great progress to get through that last stretch to the finish line.  Just click here.

We are grateful.  And we will make you proud to be a part of this work.
